About the role

GitHub is looking for a Staff Design Engineer to lead the creation of high‑quality front‑end experiences that power its developer platform. Responsibilities

Eligibility

  • 10+ years of front‑end engineering experience, or equivalent combinations of education and experience (e.g., Bachelor’s + 8 years, Master’s + 6 years, Ph.D. + 4 years).
  • Proficiency with modern front‑end technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Hands‑on experience with design and prototyping tools like Figma and familiarity with AI‑powered design workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on large‑scale, open‑source or developer‑tool products.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
